Lock and unlock

Key fob

The key fob can be used to lock and unlock the car, open the tailgate, and control the windows. The key fob is usable within 10 m of the car.

Interference from wireless devices, radio, and TV masts can affect the operation of the key fob.

Replace the key fob battery

Warning
Keep the battery away from children and animals, as they could accidentally swallow the battery. Swallowing the battery could cause serious injury or death.

There is a message on the driver display when the key fob requires a battery replacement. The key fob uses a CR2450 battery.

Note
The key fob can still be used to lock/unlock and start the car even if the key fob battery is out of charge. For more information, see Use the key fob.

To replace the battery:

  1. Flip the key fob upside down.

  2. Replace the CR2450 battery, making sure that the positive (+) side of the battery is facing upwards.

  3. Put the two casing sides back together, lining them up as per the arrows shown in the image.
  4. Rotate the back shell of the casing counterclockwise.
