Seating, storage, and loading

Seating recommendations

Never adjust or fold/unfold the seats when the car is moving, and always make sure the seats are securely upright before driving with passengers in the back seat.

Driver seat recommendations

  • As far back as possible, while comfortably able to reach and fully depress the pedals.
  • With the seatback upright with the backside and shoulders in full contact with the seat.
  • With the back of the head in full contact with the headrest.

Seat belt recommendations

Correctly fastened seat belt with shoulder belt and lap belt
  • Not twisted.
  • Over the shoulder and across the chest (shoulder belt).
  • Across the lap, tightly under the abdomen (lap belt).

Pregnant occupant recommendations

  • As far back as possible, while comfortably able to reach and fully depress the pedals.
  • With steering wheel as far away from the abdomen as possible while remaining comfortable.
  • With the seatback upright with the backside and shoulders in full contact with the seat.
  • With the back of the head in full contact with the headrest.
Correctly fastened seat belt for a pregnant occupant
  • Not twisted.
  • Over the shoulder, between the breasts, and to the side of the abdomen (shoulder belt).
  • As low as possible, flat over the thighs, tightly under the abdomen (lap belt).
